Tickets for the eagerly awaited ‘Long Lunch’, hosted by Canowindra’s Windowrie Estate, have been released. After a two-year hiatus due to Covid 19, Windowrie’s O’Dea family are excited to once again adorn their garden and welcome guests to enjoy a Japanese inspired lunch matched with wines from the vineyard.
Tickets for the 20th annual Long Lunch have been released, with the date set for Saturday 29th October.
Set in the beautiful gardens of the Windowrie homestead, the O’Dea family with winemaker Anthony D’Onise, will gather to welcome guests with generous long tables filled with Japanese inspired dishes, set alongside the winery’s award-winning wines.
“We have been exporting our wines to Japan for 20 years, making fantastic friends along the way,” says Windowrie’s Jason O’Dea.
“It has been one of the family’s most enjoyable and rewarding relationships, so we thought it high time to celebrate it.
“Along with live music, the Japanese inspired meal will be prepared by the very talented chef Angela McCormick. The dishes will be matched to our range of wines from our Windowrie, Pig in the House and Natural Wine Co. ranges.
“It has been too long since we hosted our Long Lunch, and a lot has happened in that time. Not only has Covid 19 stopped us entertaining guests in the garden, we lost our father David last year.
“This Long Lunch will be the first without him, so he will be remembered at the lunch. It was one of David’s dreams to establish the vineyard and garden, and he was in his element when hosting these lunches.”
Tickets to the Windowrie Long Lunch are limited, so guests are encouraged to book as soon as possible so as not to be disappointed.
